Jessica Breslin, Counselor
Certificate in Marriage and Family Therapy

Reaching out for help can be incredibly difficult and scary! For that reason, my goal is to create a safe and comfortable place for you to share as much or as little as you are ready to share. I work with individuals, couples, and families who are currently feeling stuck and looking for additional guidance. My experience includes, but is not limited to:

  • Adults, teens, adolescents and children struggling with anxiety and/or obsessive compulsive disorder
  • Adults, teens, adolescents and children struggling with depression and/or suicidal thoughts
  • Individuals struggling with past or current traumatic experiences
  • Couples and family counseling

I attended Florida State University for my undergraduate degree of psychology and then continued to University of South Florida for my graduate degree in mental health counseling. While at USF, I also completed my certification in Marriage and Family Counseling. Most of my experience working with children and teens has been focused towards helping them with severe anxiety, obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD), and/or depression – working alongside the parent to alleviate impacts of trauma, depression, and anxiety. Please see our Child Therapy and Counseling page for additional information!

I usually practice from an emotionally focused approach, and at times I also use a cognitive behavioral approach. Both of these approaches are scientifically based and shown to be the most effective in treating individuals of all ages, couples, and families.

Many of us may find it difficult to begin opening up to a stranger- younger clients, as well as the couples and adults I work with, have found I am able to connect in a friendly and comforting way, helping them to feel safe.

I have a true passion for helping others to find their strengths. I look forward to meeting with you, your spouse, and your family in order to work towards living a fulfilled and happy life!

“Probably the biggest insight… is that happiness is not just a place, but also a process… Happiness is an ongoing process of fresh challenges, and… it takes the right attitudes and activities to continue to be happy.” – Ed Diener
