Reaching out for help can be incredibly difficult and scary! For that reason, my goal is to create a safe and comfortable place for you to share as much or as little as you are ready to share. I work with individuals, couples, and families who are currently feeling stuck and looking for additional guidance. My experience includes, but is not limited to:

● Adults, teens, adolescents and children struggling with anxiety and/or obsessive
compulsive disorder

● Adults, teens, adolescents and children struggling with depression and/or suicidal

● Individuals struggling with past or current traumatic experiences

● Couples and family counseling

I attended Florida State University for my undergraduate degree of psychology and then continued to University of South Florida for my graduate degree in mental health counseling. While at USF, I also completed my certification in Marriage and Family Counseling. Most of my experience working with children and teens has been focused towards helping them with severe anxiety, obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD), and/or depression – working alongside the parent to alleviate impacts of trauma, depression, and anxiety. Please see our Child Therapy and Counseling page for additional information!

I have advanced training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT). Both of these approaches are scientifically based and shown to be the most effective in treating individuals of all ages, couples, and families. You may find it difficult to begin opening up to a stranger- younger clients, as well as the
couples and adults I work with, have found I am able to connect in a friendly and comforting way, helping you to feel safe.

I have a true passion for helping you to find your strengths. I look forward to meeting with you, your spouse, and your family in order to work towards living a fulfilled and happy life! “Probably the biggest insight… is that happiness is not just a place, but also a process… Happiness is an ongoing process of fresh challenges, and… it takes the right attitudes and activities to continue to be happy.” – Ed Diener

I have found that providing a safe space to be heard, understood, and accepted is one of the most important aspects of therapy. My goal is to help all of my clients find that safe space to explore their thoughts and feelings in a comfortable and welcoming atmosphere. I am here to listen and guide when you are feeling helpless, hopeless, and even lost. Together we can find your blueprint toward your goals!

I have had the privilege of helping adolescents, adults, couples, and families as they struggle with a myriad of challenges. My special focus is on strengthening relationships through the use of Emotionally Focused Therapy. EFT has been proven to help people with a variety of struggles, including depression, anxiety, marital and relationship distress, and family conflict.

Another helpful service is Discernment Counseling. This type of counseling helps couples decide if you need to go forward with divorce or if you want to work to save your marriage. Research shows a large number of couples can benefit from this type of counseling. It can prevent some couples from going down the path of divorce prematurely, and can help other couples make the difficult decision of divorce in a thoughtful and respectful way.

With 10 years of experience, including youth ministry, a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, and a Master’s degree in Rehabilitation and Mental Health Counseling, I am able to help with the challenges you are facing.

I hope you will reach out and ask for help. My other clients have been glad they did, and I believe you will be too!
